oh wow this is what running water is like

ever sense i have had my boat the water pump only sent a trickle of water out, and the pressure switch on it was bad. so turn on water pump breaker, open faucet and use the trickle to do dishes, turn of breaker when done.

well today i put in a new pump... oh baby so nice.

also i did not have an accumulator on the system and i an too cheap to buy one. so i made one out of some pvc, its basicly a large U, with a barb installed on the bottom. it made from 2 inch pvc, about 8 inches tall. the reason its in a U shape is so i did not have to use a bigger diameter pipe for volume. i also installed a drain valve on the bottom, so i can "recharge" the air bubble as it gets dissolved into the water ( obviously when not under pressure ). it is under my head sink so its out of the way but easy to drain

when i turn the breaker on the pump runs till the pressure switch shuts it off. if i then turn the breaker off, i get 4 cups of water out of the faucet before there is no more pressure.

the whole system works so well i installed a hose fitting in a lazerette so i can hook up my hose and use it for wash down or a cockpit shower. so then the boat got a complete fresh water wash, on the hook. thank god for a 36 gallon water tank on a 27 foot boat, but tomorrow is fuel and pump out day so i will refill with water

Good for you for improving your water system, nothing like turning the faucet on and having a good flow come out.

I am green (with envy, not algae). What sort of boat, and where do you keep the tank?
