Trust me when i tell you this- ditch the old tank and buy a new one. I don't know which state you are in, but here in California, if you don't have an OPD valve they won't fill it and some of the old tanks don't have the right size opening to put one on. The time you spend (waste) looking for someone to do this can be saved if you just buy a new tank and be done with it. In my case, I have to build a new propane locker because the size of my tanks is no longer produced. Anywhere.
