Many thanks to Smackdaddy and his pals over here on SailNet who were supportive in my hours of darkness. The scholarship is thriving and the first two guys came to dinner last week. They are wonderful men and very important to Jill and me. They are a tangeable connection to something that Spike loved, going to sea.

Spike also loved his old VW bus. He had a nice new Scion "Box" but he really loved the VW bus. The more work it needed the more he liked it. He was the type that saw every mechanical challenge as an adventure. He was so patient with inanimate mechnical devices.

Last Christmas Spike asked me for a submarine. So one day when he was here we say together and came up with this. It was really the last thing we did as a team. I have it framed now and I'll give it to Grace tomorrow.

Merry Christmas to everyone at SailNet.

Thanks for posting the sub/kombi Maestro. I was hoping you would.

Those SailNutters who don't visit Anarchy may not know this but a truly wonderful Anarchist , Wun Hung Lo (I suspect not his real name ) began another project, The Spike Burgee, which has now travelled half way round the world where it arrived on the Womboat last week. Boxing Day TSB is setting off in the Sydney to Hobart.

Heres TSB on Sydney Harbour.
