There were two 23 foot Paceships. I am assuming that you are talking about the one from the 1970''s vs the one from the 1960''s. There were both keel and keel/swing keel versions of this boat. The keel versions sailed very nicely. They are not fast enough to race competitively but are fun boats to sail with nice handling characteristics. I have not sailed on a keel/centerboard version but from seeing them underway, they do not seem to have the same performance as the keel version but still appear to sail well without any obvious quirks.
