Hopefully we have a Maryland boat broker who can answer a question. The question is this; When a person buys a boat that is offered thru a broker (listed, advertised and shown) can the buyer pay the fees and taxes to the state themselves instead to the broker. I read the Maryland law and understand the broker gets to keep 1.2% of the tax for their troubles when they sell a boat but the law keeps referring to them as dealers instead of brokers.
