Does anybody know which tool is required to remove the 1/2 "bolts that connects the ports to the engine ?? i cannot seem to fit any socket/wrench in there!! any advice welcome

I think you are having trouble fitting the socket over the bolt because of the clearance between the exchanger body and the bolt head. If so you will have to use open end wrench.
