Photos of trip to Antarctica earlier this year - online now, follow the link:

Antarctica Photo Journal (1)

We took Kiwi Roa down from Chile to the South Shetland Islands and most of the reachable spots on the Antarctic Peninsula.

Lots of snow, ice, rock, and yes penguins.

There are also a few pics of the Drake Passage down and back, plus a few rounding Cape Horn on the return leg. Enjoy.

Possibly the most incredible cruising photos I've seen... it's quite another world "down there".

random,

Did you see the stern anchor? What a piece of artwork.....i2f
There were quite a few aspects that looked interesting.
Reminded me of the boat a friend of mine was building years ago, he used to work on the ferry that crosses bass straight - he had a lot of respect for the ocean.

"Behind us, unforgiving rock and breaking waves awaited us should the anchor have failed. Had we dragged and the bow wiped off, we would never have been able to bring the bow around into the wind before ending up driven ashore. Fortunately, the Rocna anchor did its job true to reputation."

Wow.

This is probably the most incredible cruising report I've seen on Sailnet. Thanks very much for sharing it with us Craig.
