I bought a Todd console recently and after 4 months exposure to the elements (not covered) it's developped what looks like a mold growth- small black spots that seem to be just under the surface.
I've tried marine cleaners, bleach, bar keepers friend among other abrasive products to remove it but it doesn't seem to touch it.
Anyone have any ideas how to remove it?

Thanks for the info ! This product is manufactured from rotationally molded plastic rather than GRP.

Do you think it's safe to use the caustic and oxalic applications on this or would I end up with a ball of molten plastic?

thanks again for the advice- I've been speaking with the manufacturer and it sounds like they may replace it under warranty.
I imagine the new one will be prone to the same problem so I'll try and keep it covered over and as dry as possible.
Sounds like a poor choice of material for a product that's designed to sit outside, exposed to the elements though !
