I'm not real big into the whole "pirate theme" sailing thing either (check here for thread on flying a pirate flag 91 pages of drivel on a subject of something that honestly shouldn't ever be done given the history http://www.sailnet.com/forums/general-discussion-sailing-related/67026-flying-pirate-flag-lame-91.html).... but a lot of sailors are (which you'd think is pretty contradictory)...
I'm not much into Johnny Depp (a mediocre actor at best), but I have to say he does a fair job with the role, and honestly he's found a weird twist on it that works (and making millions, ah hem, billions at the box office has to say something).
Hell William Shatner was never a great actor, but he's managed to make a fortune on his over-acting style... so good on them both.

Despite committing a few really lousy movies lately, I still like that dude and wish him all the best in the recovery process. I think he is going through a mid life crisis.
That's for sure. The Rum Diaries movie he starred in based on the Hunter Thompson book was absolutely awful!

In that case, I'd call it self-inflicted. There's no way anyone should expect to win a go-kart race against Mick Doohan.
