I am trying to track down some portlight dogs for my old 9" portlights that I am refurbishing. The old dogs are frozen or broken. I believe the manufacturer was Rostand (no longer in business). The dogs are bronze and 1/4 inch - 20 pitch. I believe Spartan marine makes dogs but they are 3/8" and are too big for my ports.

Any ideas where I could track something down?

How about getting some 1/4X20 bronze bolts, cutting the heads off and drilling a hole to mount. Bronze is a soft metal, which should make the job simple and it would be cheap.

That is my backup plan. I took a few and pounded the head square and drilled them out, but they look a little 'wonky'. They will work in a pinch though, I was just hoping I could find something with a more 'finished' look.

Brass would be just as good.
Get easier to find threaded brass rods, cut to size, round one end for the butterfly nut and drill. Should work fine.
