Dear Sailing Community,

I am one of the directors of Common Tides, a 501(c)(3) non-profit - www.commontides.org. Our organization works with local underserved youth to provide free marine science and sailing programs in order to meet our mission of inspiring passion through ocean education and stewardship to create positive change.

We are looking to develop a partnership with an owner of a sailing vessel. We primarily work in the U.S. Virgin Islands. We had a trip set for this summer but we canceled due to COVID-19. We have plans for a variety of trips for 2021. The potential partnership would not have to encompass all trips and the partnership could be set to be any length that is at least 1 week. Our typical trips are 1-4 weeks in length.

We have chartered sailing vessels in the past, but by developing a partnership, we believe we will be able to better serve the community we work with for longer periods of time.

Typically we bring 6-8 interns and then have 2-3 staff. Therefore, the minimum size boat would likely need to hold 9 people.

If anyone is interested, you can reach me at [email protected]. I would be happy to provide more details and speak further.

Sincerely,

Mike Smith
