Well, we just got our first rude shock--I think.

We found a home for our 33-footer at the Charleston City Marina, a 35' slip at $13/foot/month, plus enviro fee, all sounds pretty normal, exactly what they advertised on the website, works out to $460/month, which is what we were expecting.

But we just got the quote from them, and it shows an additional $325/month "pro-rated slippage" fee. It's not a one-time charge, it's every month. Can anyone help me understand what this additional charge is? Google has been no help...

Did you tell them you would be living aboard?

Dangit. Sorry, my bad.

We just questioned marina management; they resent the CORRECT quote. It is a one-time fee for a partial month at the slip. They messed up their own quote and I jumped too fast.

D'oh.

Thanks for the fast response, though! I'm so glad we found this forum!
