I would like to purchase a prop shaft coupler from PYI to be installed on my Seasprite 28 with Universal diesel model 5411, and Hurth transmission. If this coupler is bolted between the shaft and transmission, does this in any way affect galvanic current flow to the zinc screwed onto the end of the prop shaft. Is there enough of a conductive path through the bolts?

You can do a couple of things to test and correct. Take a multimeter and test for continuity from the transmission to the shaft with the coupler installed.I thing you will find adequate conduction. If not connect a small 8gage jumper cable from the front to the back side of the coupler. I have seen this done befor and it worked.You might have to change the jumper every once and a while.

Installing a flexible coupler between the shaft and transmission will isolate the shaft, probably a good thing. You''ll still want to protect the prop with a sacrificial zinc if your prop and shaft are made of different metals.
