For those of you considering coming to Carriacou to do your Grenada quarantine, at the moment the quarantine area is in the mangrove lagoon on the north side of Tyrrel Bay.
For those of you unfamiliar with mangrove lagoons, though well sheltered from wind and sea, they have no-see-ums, spiders and mosquitoes a-plenty and would be a pretty miserable place to spend a couple of weeks. Much of the day you wouldn't want to spend even a few minutes on deck.

You won't be able to leave your hatches or ports open as most of these biters can slip through the tiniest of holes and screens.
Just a head's up and though the anchorage at ST. George's isn't an ideal place to quarantine for two weeks either, the lagoon in Tyrrel Bay would be much worse.

Wait, what? But, the You Tube sailing channels show the Caribbean as a "paradise". They never mention no-see-ums and mosquitoes. Come to think of it the Captain on our charters did anchor out a bit from the islands we anchored off of. :)

Are you talking about the hurricane hole there? If so, is there even room to swing at anchor, or do you need to be tied to trees? I don't think there is much room to pass by boats, so it must be first in last out?

Two weeks in that place would be worse than just getting Covid.
