Hello,
I was wondering if anyone out there may have experience with the EV100 Sail autopilot from Raymarine? I'm thinking of going with this system for use on my Seaward32. I do not have an AP at this time but do understand how much easier it would make sailing solo.

Thank you

Hello,

Last year I installed the EV100 on my C&C 110. Overall I am happy with the unit. Installation was easy. The unit is easy to use and I can steer to a heading, wind angle, or waypoint. On my boat the AP doesn't work well in high winds or in large following seas. I didn't expect it to work in those conditions so I'm not disappointed.

My unit isn't very loud. I usually turn down the sensitivity so it doesn't make too many adjustments. I found it on sale for about $1100 (defender spring sale which is next week).

I would prefer a below decks pilot, but not at 3X the price.

Hi Guys,

Thank you very much for the information. I was planning on looking at this unit at the Defender show next week and also understand that the unit has limitations vs a larger below deck mounted system. My primary use would be for solo sailing and when its time to head into the wind to flake the main. How bad is the noise in the cockpit from the drive motor?

Thanks again.
