I noticed the fabric that holds my dinghy seat in place is starting to tear. Then I looked around at other people's dinghies and realized why so many had an ice chest in them! I don't want to someday sit on a cooler

What would be a good way to reinforce these straps so thy don't tear any further or put new ones in?

Here is a low quality pic.

If you sit on the seat long term those straps will tear. Keeping the tubes hard helps but I have seen lots tear like yours.

Add a brace like a bulkhead under the seat so the weight is transferred to the floor. [ It is a RIB I think. ]

Or do like most of us do and sit on the tubes.

Oh the tubes! Thanks man. I'm just getting used to it. I should sit on the tubes. You've got to understand I'm really picky about stuff on boats. Worst case there's got to be a way to undo te hypalon that's holding the straps on, put new straps on and put new pieces of hypalon back on with hypalon glue?

Has anyone ever repaired theirs?
