hi.

have an Aluminum bottomed RIB getting older. Pontoons and Aluminum bottom in reasonably good condition.

BUT, "tape" (ca. 3 inch band of fabric + adhesive) used to attach pontoon to aluminum on bottom is separating in one spot and water seeping in.

advice on best way to reattach/reseal?

thanks in advance

If you really like your rib and want it to last, take it to a professional for those kinds of repairs.
If you don't care how long the repair holds, then by all means do it yourself.

Take it to a pro. I can fix just about anything, but I've never had any luck getting inflatables to keep the air in or water out, even with the repair kits made specifically for the type of boat.

I tried the Goop. Worked for a while but later failed. This was a major repair, though. The bottom fabric had detached from the tubes in a couple places. Never did get it hold well. I now have a hard dinghy. Not quite as s stable, but bulletproof.
