I bought a shackle with a plastic chafe guard to attach the replacement slug at West Marine. I imagine it would work with a track as well the in-mast groove for slugs.

Replacing Sail Tracks on an O'Day 28
I have a couple of missing sail tracks on my 28 and do not know how to attach the plastic replacement sail tracks to the loop sewn into the mainsail. can anyone suggest a method?
