For a Lido I would probably just go to strait dyneema and make sure your cam cleats are in good shape. Your halyards are pretty lightly loaded, so I wouldn't worry to much about adding tails. It just wouldn't be worth the effort.

If you do want to add something to make the line easier to handle, then splice in a short piece of cover where the halyard hits the cleat. You can recycle used line, or use a 3' piece of something like Samson 'Smooth Ice' cover. It's a pretty quick splice to learn, and since it carries no load isn't a critical issue.

Wire as halyards are long past time to retire.
