There's a new Samson single braid that has nice hand & is 'toothy' enuf to work in standard cleats, clutches, and winch drums.
Control-DPX
Nicey-strongy, lower creep than some Dyneema, and a good price. I'm thinking we replace all the 1/2"-line-to-5/16"-wire halyards on our 30'er with 1/4" Control-DPX. Keep the line coils small & save about 20# aloft.:laugher
For a Lido 14, you could get away with about a 3/32" high tech line. But at some point, it gets too small to ride the sheaves or handle comfortably. I've used 3/16" on dinks for halyards.
