Hello all,

I have written an Anchor Alarm iPhone application and am interested in seeing if any of you would care to write a review for it. If so, please PM me and let me know of your interest and where you plan to submit your review. I'll send you a demo code that will let you download it for free. For more info, or to have a look at the app, go to iTunes and search for "anchor alarm" or pm me and I will send you a link.

thanks,

Chris

P.S. I hope to write some more sailing related iPhone apps soon, so if you have ideas or feedback, I'd definitely be interested in hearing about it.

I will be interested in the summer, but its pretty hard to test with the boat on the hard. One app I would love to see is a better tides and currents app. The one I downloaded has far less reference points than are available.

I am a toy loving guy BUT i don't understand why people want to depend on something that is so easy to kill with water

I went out of my way to buy a water proof Casio GZ phone because it was so easy to kill all my other stuff on board

I got some bags at a westmarine sale..they were designed for handheld VHF-on clearance for around 3 bucks.. i bought a handful, after testing that you can use the phone through the bag !!

Sounds like a cool app. I don't own an iphone and would not want my gps to be my phone. I think it could make a great backup however. Did you all hear about the boat that grounded off osterpoint in the S.F. bay and all systems on the boat went out, the captain could not give the C.G. an exact location (Power Boaters crack me up) untill a passanger gave the captain the exact location from his iphone, saved the day:D Great thinking and keep up the coding and thanks.

Make the app free for a while and then you will get enough reviews. $9.99 is cheap but some people (me included) what to see that it works before spending the money. If there were enough positive reviews I would buy it. I do have the I Phone and love it and will use it as a backup to the chart ploter on the boat.
MAKE IT FREE for 1 month and see what happens.

Be careful Tommays -- I had that exact same phone. One day in a restaurant, I plopped it into a glass of water to impress some kids -- and it never worked right again.

Wally - great idea, but I second jdair.
