Hi there. I have a Cal 21 that hopfully will see water this year. Here is my question: On the upper spreader there are stays that go from the top of the mast, bend around the spreader and terminate at the attachment of the larger (lower) spreader. They go through a slot cut into the upper spreader ends which appear to just be threaded rods which just slip into tubes and tension is adjusted by a nut on each threaded rod. The threaded rods at the slot end are corroded through so they have to be replaced. I imagine this is all simple enough but I just don't want to do somthing stupid and bugger the whole thing up. I have a cable tensiometer, so would I just bring it back to it's starting tension, or is there an art to this that would be beyond the relm of a mear mortal. If the term "jumper strut" helps clarify where I'm working, I saw that term used in a drawing. I wasn't sure if they meant the cable or the spreader. Thanks for your patience and your time. Jim B.
