I am looking for a boat to use as a liveaboard in Santa Cruz, CA and had pretty much settled on a Catalina 30 as a good balance between space, availability, resale value, and basic sailability. I have just had someone present a rob cheoy lee 35 to me at what seems like an amazing value. I'm waiting to find out exactly the year/model/details but I know it's not the Lion model and that it has a full fiberglass hull and deck.

I have seriously researched several boats but know nothing about the Cheoy Lee's. I am waiting for more specifics about the boat but was wondering what people thought or if anyone had any pertinent info I might glean from them about Cheoy lee's in general.

more info------1965 robb cheoy lee with 21hp volvo diesel

Hi Kevin,

No I looked and there was too much that needed to be done to the boat. It wasn't going to be a project that I could afford. I am actually closing on a Catalina 30 tomorrow.

Thanks for the interest,

Bill

Congrats on your new vessel! Catalinas are usually real good cruisers. Just don't go sailing to Hawaii on her...
