Installing a new chartplotter and routing cables through pedestal guard.. Cables enter interior through a hole in cockpit floor. Hole is directly under end of pedestal guard tube and sealed by pedestal guard foot.

Thought about sealing cables in the hole instead of relying on seal at pedestal foot. Squirting polysulfide suck as LifeSeal seems like it will be a mess if I ever want to add:remove a cable. Trying to avoid a second hole for the new cables but might if I can readily seal them.

So, how do people seal cables penetrating a cockpit floor?

Cable Clams. Protects the cable and keeps the water out.

For example, see (click on) https://www.bluesea.com/products/1003/CableClam_1.40in

I ran a bunch of cables up the leg of the cockpit table by installing a nylon thru-hull up from the inside of the cabin. The thru-hull sleeve extends up above the sole to prevent water from running down the hole, and a short run of hose covers the cables above the they-hull.

I also have three Cable Clams at the mast base; slightly bigger footprint but work great.
