Hello everybody,

Has any of you ever taken apart the rudder assembly on a Cabo Rico 38? Ours has got a small seepage of water coming around the tube that holds the rudder shaft. I don't think it is a problem with the packing gland because the water appears to be coming from the outside edge of the tube rather than where the shaft emerges from it. The boat is out for the winter but it looks like it would have to be lifted for the rudder to be taken right out. (The marina owners would not be happy having a hole dug in their newly laid surface, otherwise that would be a way forward).

I just wondered whether anyone has had a problem like this, and whether it could be sorted out without entirely removing the rudder. Any advice about the nature of the structure would be extremely helpful. Indeed any advice on the subject would be great.
