I am noticing wear patterns on my boat finish. Mostly near the winches and where lines have rubbed on coaming corners, etc.

Just wondering what others have done to protect these areas?

I have seen deck tread type rubber around winches for this reason. I have 'feet' under the genoa sheet winches for both angle and height.

a poors man way that is reversible is cheap auto stick on trim, the chrome stuff.

again for me the link stuff wont work so do a clip and paste 14mm x 4 2mm CHROME FLAT TRIM TRMC7

it will look like stainless for a season, just put it on the edges where you rub. it will take the abuse, then you can carefully peel and use a weak solvent to get the last of the sticky tape of when you want to change it out.

teflon tape works well. If you burn through it, just slap another piece over it.

Didn't I see some advert in one of the sailing magazines about ...
Stainless foil that is adhesive backed? It was intended for this application I believe.
