I just bought a new sailboat, first time sailboat owner. I took down the Genoa to clean it as the leech had some mildew on it and noticed it there were vertical tears in the leach along the seam. I'll attach some pictures. Is this something I can fix with sail tape? Have to admit, this is all new to me just trying to figure out what the best way to handle these tears in the sail is. I'd say about half of the leech on one side has these tears in it.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah the photos aren't great, the sail is sort of folded back on itself so it's hard to see what's what. It's only torn on one side, so likely the UV cover. Turns out I have to take it to a sail repair shop anyways, the luff portion of the sail where it feeds into the track is torn/frayed at the head so it's almost impossible to feed it into the track. It just bunches up and gets stuck. I was going to put the sail up even with the small tears for some light wind sailing this weekend before I took it in, but can't even get it back into the track.

Ah well!
