Hey guys,

I'd probably sail i'm amateur at sailing, but nothing more practice won't solve. Now i'm very lucky in that i have money to spend and i'd love to sail either mostly around the world or completely.

I've seen those adverts for the clipper race around the world but it seems very expensive, do people have a general opinion on this cost, I think it's about ÂŁ45,000 GBP in full. HOw do most sailors feel about the thought of spending this money, and not spending on an alternative method of going around the world. I've looked at the pictures and it does look pretty cool and i like a challenge.

THanks
steve

The Clipper looks cool, but it's not how I would want to sail around the world. It sounds more like hitting every bar in town and barely stopping for a drink.

Get more experience, use the money to buy a boat and build up to what you want to do.
