Ahoy Vinman. I lived aboard for two years at Buzzard''s Roost Marina on John''s Island in Charleston. Only those now living aboard will be able to live aboard and no new people will be allowed to live aboard because they are phasing out live aboard. But, if you do not plan to live aboard it is a good marina, reasonable, has a good restaurant, Cappy''s, and is in a good location close to anything you need while still being off the beaten path generally. It is on the Stono River and fairly well protected. City Marina is expensive and you will be under a microscope and not be as private or comfortable. There is also a marina at Folly Beach you might check out. You will love Charleston. Good Luck. dhd
