That Ericson Independence 31 would have been a super boat for you or anyone looking for a traditional small boat with a decent sailing characteristics. These are one of those unknown gems from the "way-back machine".
To mix a bunch of metaphors, there are lots of stars in the sky, every pot has its cover and there is bound to be the right boat just around the corner when you are ready to get back on the saddle again.

Yeah... I really liked it and the price was really cheap.. Plus a new engine! It's neof those timings get things... Oh well, timing is everything in life and my time will come in the next few years..I also want to look at the Pearson 35 and a Pearon 42
I was thinking of you as I was reading these ratio things of sail square footage to displacement and such. There were about 5 or 6 different calculations in a naval architecture type article - It made me understand your recommendations -
