Not sure where you are sailing from? If in the Carib and from the north your first port will be Bocas. Very stright forward and like checking into any other country.
The only quirk is in the San Blas or Kuna Yala. Even if you have checked in to Panama you will have to check into Kuna Yala as the folks there are not really convinced that they are part of Panama. Kinda funny but true and at times they send out a boat to check and see if folks have the proper paper for Kuna Yala.
