Hi Folks

The husband and I retired last spring. We have been looking for a live aboard, blue water capable sailboat since fall of 2007 in preparation for our retirement. Sold the house and everything we owned (a year ago) and are down to one vehicle and an old cat (animal).

Thought we would have been cruising by now, but our learning curve has kept us on the shore. We are finally determining what kind of boat we want (blue water catamaran with good bridge deck clearance and more than 6' headroom in the galley). Now we just need one at the right price.

In the meantime, we are hanging out with the family in central Florida, enjoying retirement and cruising on forums.

Our previous sailing experience includes owning a Catalina 22, a Buccaneer 36 (not for very long), and a Polynesian Concept 36. We have sailed in the Puget Sound in Washington state, the coastal waters of southern Maine, and the coastal waters of South Florida including the Keys and the intercoastal.

Looking forward to "anchoring" for a while here on this Internet forum.

cheers and fair winds and following seas to you.

Welcome to Sailnet, yogisailor!

Without knowing anything about your price range, have you had a chance yet to look at Chris White Designs catamarans?

Good luck with your search!

Hi JohnRPollard

thanks for the link.

been hearing about Chris White designs.

Liked the link. Need a used one.

Our price range is $250K or less for a multihull with all the necessities and toys. For a monohull, we would prefer to spend around $120K with all the extras. We want a boat between 40' and 45', maybe 46'.

Thanks, I'll hang out on the Chris White link for a while and hope we get lucky.

I like the Pacific Seacraft Crealock 31 on your post. looks very smart. The skeg rudders and 3/4 keel are my favorites on monohulls - they're very safe in remote waters with submerged objects - like submerged barrels.
