Hey Guys, the yard that I have doing some work on the boat pulled the shaft after pounding on the cutlas housing (name?) anyways the engine reportedly dropped when it finally came out ! It was running fine before, maybe a little rough (single yanmar SB12), is there anything I should ask them to look at , they are replacing the engine mounts and stuffing box hose... assuming they wi;ll align it better when finished, will the tranny be OK,....

Thanks ,Mike:confused:

Diesel mounts tend to be pretty soft to isolate the boat from as much vibration as possible and they do fail

The yard can only put it back correctly NOT much they can do about anything form the past

Pounding??

Mike are you suggesting they pulled the shaft with a slide hammer?

Even I know that hammering to pull out or push in a shaft on a boat can/will rip or damage the transmission. Have a "talk" with them before they go any farther!
jus sayin..
