At some marina, you pay by LOA or berth length whichever is longer. heads I win tail you loss.

That's pretty much what I see everywhere.

The long and the short is: Does your boat fit? Can you get the boat in and out OK? Will the harbor let you put your boat in that slip? Then, that slip is OK.
