Hey all, got me a great deal on a good stove. It's an Alcohol stove and oven. No need to get into propane vs Alcohol. What I need is a pressure tank. I have done the searching and found almost nothing. Worst marine has a tank but says not for alchol only diesel or kero. And as always I am not a rich man so please no 600.00 dollar options. I have done the searching on ebay and craigslist with no luck yet. Seems like one can be built or converted however, when it comes to fire I want to be safe:D

Putting aside the propane vs. alcohol debate, let's focus on your last statement: "...when it comes to fire I want to be safe".

Even among alcohol-fuel advocates, I can't remember the last time someone argued seriously about the safety advantage of a pressurized alcohol stove/oven. They have a dubious reputation when it comes to fire safety.

I suspect that may be why you are getting a "great deal" and also why you are having trouble finding a tank. Most folks that prefer using alcohol fuel have converted over to unpressurized systems for the obvious safety advantage.

If you like alcohol fuel -- would you consider an unpressurized system?

I can't see how you possibly could consider it a great deal if the stove didn't come with a pressure tank? It isn't a functioning stove... and as such, not very valuable or useful as a stove. I am willing to bet you could have bought an Origo unpressurized alcohol stove for what you paid for your "great deal".

Thanks for all the help guys. Thought I would give it a try. I will find the solution just like I did for my last post, no responses on that one at all and telling me I did not get a good deal because it needs a tank Wow, thanks.

I hate to break it to you, but it wasn't a great deal. The PO probably sold it after trying to find a tank to fit it and decided to pawn it off on some poor unknowing bastage, knowing how difficult the tank would be to find. Anything he made on the stove is gravy, since the stove is currently NON-FUNCTIONAL. You bought a paperweight... By definition, at least to most people, it would only be a great deal if the stove was actually usable. It isn't at the moment and the time and money it will take you to find a tank for it turns it from a great deal into a great pain in the @ss.

If you don't like the answer, not really anyone's fault but your own.

I was just trying to alert you to the potential safety hazards of pressurized alcohol stoves, since you mentioned that you "want to be safe".
