My wife says that she thinks the Carnation Dry Milk mix tastes better....but then she is relating to a comparison to soy products several years ago. Our son had to drink soy milk as a child....but he tolerated it.
Soy milk is thicker and often times has a odor to it. And the possibility exists that when you open a container...it ay require refrigeration.
Parmalat......another "milk" that doesn''t require refrigeration until opened: Yuckkkk!!
We plan to use the Carnation Dry Milk Mix, because you can make it in small quantities, like a single glass.
I think the "nutritional supplements" are different. If you check out the protein supplementsin most health food stores I think you will find they contain alot of soy in them.....and I found them tolerable.
I would also suggest you take vitamins, and especially "C".
I drink soy milk due to lactose intolerance. Until recently, I could not find a good product. Now I drink vanilla flavored SILK everyday. I''v not taken it sailing or elsewhere without good refrigeration, so can''t comment about that.
Once you get used to the taste of soymilk, you will probably like it better than the cow version. It is MUCH MUCH better for you! I won''t go into the details, but compare whats on the label and you will see for yourself.
Flavored soy milk is a great "energy drink". If you don''t have time to make a meal, and you need some calories, protien, vitamins and minerals fast, soy milk is a good alternative to some of that chemical junk they sell.
It is important that you try as many different brands and flavors as you can. There is no real standard, so some are a tiny bit gritty and thick and some are thinner. Some have more suger and some have none.
Soy milk is easily found in boxes that can be stored at any temperature.
Don''t forget to shake up soymild before you drink it.
