I inspected it without taking the connectors off. It is in its own little box and looked very clean, indeed. But now that you mention it, I will loosen the connectors and jiggle them around to see if there is any corrosion in there. Thanks again!
Remove them and clean them! Use a piece of sandpaper or a file to make the copper connectors shiny. Don't just jiggle them around.I inspected it without taking the connectors off. If you read the link I provided, it answered that question. It's the fuse between the starter button or key switch and the starter solenoid. If it works sometimes, the fuse is fine, it is the HOLDER. Please reread what I linked you to.Thanks Stu... I am a complete novice here, so when you say "the fuse in the wire between the key switch and the starter solenoid", do you mean the fuse is blown, partially blown, weak? Do all starters have this fuse?
