I like strip lights, they are easy and inexpensive. I'd recommend the "warm" ones, and install them in aluminum channel. I did that in my galley Galley lighting

They are great... Easy to install, use little power amd offer a lot of light. Auto parts stores have some that are inexpensive and easy to install. You can "rope" them together easily.

We use LED strip lights everywhere. 16' for $10 on Amazon. Get the warm white for living spaces. Cool white works well for cupboards and lockers - line the rims with lights, add a switch and let the light shine in the dark places. Place behind fiddles or similar, add a dimmer, and have indirect adjustable lighting. I always have a couple of reels of these on board, along with the quick connects that allow power leads to be put on them anywhere, and some rf dimmer controls.
