We love our Pearson 386, but adjusting the stuffing box has been nearly impossible due to lack of accessibility and lack of space for a wrench. After many attempts I now have a method that may be useful to others with the same problem. I purchased a 2" plus wide mouthed basin wrench with an extendible arm from a local plumbing supply place. After a bit of trial and error I was able to lock the jaw on the lock nut and with the aid of a crescent wrench turn the lock nut. The right angle swivel makes it possible to work in very tight quarters. This is the best method I've found and would be interested in hearing how others have solved this problem
