Has anyone had any experience with the roller furling system known as SuperFurl? It is an intriguing product to me, but want to talk with someone who knowss the ins and outs about it. Thanks I have Newport28 that I''m upgrading.

Saco,
I installed a SuperFurl on a Montego 25 in about 1985-6. It was easy and it fit over the forestay and turnbuckle. It also had the ability to handle your existing sail inventory of hanked on sails. You just remove the hardware from the sails and sew on a plastic slides. It worked well. About a year later I had a sun cover sewn onto my jib so I could leave it on all the time. I had a 110 lapper and a 160 drifter/reacher that would both furl well. It was also very competitively priced. I don''t know how it has changed over the years.

Installed a used SuperFurl off a sister boat lost in the Jersey storms. SuperFurl owner still had the specs from the original owner on file 3 years later. Very helpful, well made product, and design addresses several issues that had kept me with hank ons up till then. With the exception of one halyard wrap (my fault... too short a pennant) early on, I have had zero issues with the furler in 16 months and 1500 miles.

Works for me
