I'm looking at a boat in the area (I'm in Mass). Any recommendations on a good surveyor? I'd rather take a tip from a relative stranger on the internet than choose blindly from the "yellow pages"... The price of the boat does not warrent paying a local to take a roadtrip :p

Thanks,
hazmat

Before hiring a surveyor, I highly recommend you go see the boat in person, if you haven't already. Often, you can save yourself the cost of a survey by looking at the boat in person. This is because of two things—either you don't like the boat, or you realize it isn't worth looking at further.

I'd recommend you read the Boat Inspection Trip Tips thread I started, as it will help you determine whether this boat is even worth going forward on, saving you the price of a survey on boats that aren't worth looking at further.
