I'm looking at a boat in the area (I'm in Mass). Any recommendations on a good surveyor? I'd rather take a tip from a relative stranger on the internet than choose blindly from the "yellow pages"... The price of the boat does not warrent paying a local to take a roadtrip :p

Thanks,
hazmat

Before hiring a surveyor, I highly recommend you go see the boat in person, if you haven't already. Often, you can save yourself the cost of a survey by looking at the boat in person. This is because of two things-either you don't like the boat, or you realize it isn't worth looking at further.

I'd recommend you read the Boat Inspection Trip Tips thread I started, as it will help you determine whether this boat is even worth going forward on, saving you the price of a survey on boats that aren't worth looking at further.
