Yes, I'm reviving an old thread, but posting for future members. Last time I had to replace a piece of running rigging, I took it to a sail loft (Waters Sails in Lexington, SC). He sent it off and had a new one made. Less expensive than buying the swaging tool and dies.

I like to stay with the original boat design and used cable. It takes a little practice to unlock the main sail on the C-lark. It's easier if you head into the wind and remember to release the downhaul.
