I took him to mean the S&S Tartan 34 and the Tartan 37.
I don't think either boat would be great for a "circumdelivery".
But for how you plan to use it, they both should work. Presumably you're looking for a bit more space. If so, and knowing your family size, Hog, I would go for the 37. I've been aboard the 34 and it is not a whole lot bigger than your Catalina 30 belowdecks. The 37 is a boat you could stick with for a long time....
