Tartan 34''s are nice boats. They have reasonable accomodations and sail well in a breeze. The keel/centerboard allows them to point quite well and still get into shallow water. They were resonably fast for their rating dead down wind with the CB up. They were raced one design on the Chesapeake Bay but I haven''t heard any references to the T34 one design fleet in the past few years.
They are not too great in light air or very heavy air. Still they are good sailing boats with a strong repution for being well constructed.
