Not sure about that boat show, but you might just want to come our way and check out some of the dealers in the Kemah/Seabrook area. We don't have a "strickly sail" or anything fancy like that down here on the third coast. What are you looking for?
The Texas International Boat Show is this weekend. I still haven't heard from anybody whether there will be many (or any) sailboats on display. Surely somebody must have gone to the previous one...
I went - it was a big disappointment. I didn't expect a large amount of sailboats but did expect more than the 10 to 12 that were there. The other disappointment was all the boats with the exception of a few trailer-able fishing boats were USED. The only interesting thing (besides the bars) was meeting and talking with the owner of Ruling Angel, an 80 ft slope they have been sailing around the world for the last 6 years. It's now for sale for 1.8 million dollars. I don't think I will buying it anytime soon. I heard from others there that it was a much better show last year.
The best sailboat show on the third coast is the Houston International In- the-Water Boat Show in September. It's at Watergate Marina in Kemah, TX - about 35 miles southeast of Houston. New and used boats, dealers and vendors come from all around the world. You can keep track of when it's going to be, by logging onto Watergate Yachting Center and clicking on "activities".
