If you remember the past administration removed (revoked, kicked out, whatever the proper term is) 35 Russian diplomats (or intelligent gathers) that were based in New York and Maryland. What I found interesting was the compound located in Maryland. I believe the closing of the Maryland compound required Russia to send in the ship that is now off the east coast since they lost the listening post in Maryland. So in effect the ship being there is the past administration's fault.

We pay a lot for those submarines, we don't pay anything for the Russians that they need to train with...... Its all good.....

Definitely not new, remember conducting "international relations" with Soviet AGI's while working the on the flight deck in the 80's and 90's
