We are pretty sure we are heading down to Annapolis this sat evening since the sunmmer crowds are gone and going to try Hell Point Seafood. General Manager was a person I trained on Capitol Hill and Kincaid restaurants are generally good. Anyone tried it yet.

Sunday ( since we are off Monday) we are either going to Corsica, Cackawy on the Chester or Swan Creek.

Anyone going to be at these places this weekend?

Well we wound up getting a late start on Saturday and got a chance to test the holding power of our new Rocna anchoring off the seawall of the Naval Academy on Saturday evening. I am a new believer in the holding power and setting ability of this anchor after five times using it. Only drawback is the amount of material you bring up when lifting it. Took the water taxi in and had dinner at Hell Point owned by Bob Kincaid of Washington DC fame. He was in the kitchen Sat night and came out to our table.

Food was good. Well presented and the service was excellent. I had a Yellow Fin Tuna Poki app and the wife Seared Diver Scallops. Entrée was a Grilled Swordfish with poached yellow cherry tomatoes and Zucchini fries, and Wife was Cornmeal Crusted Black Backed Flounder with a tomitilla mango salsa.
I gave this part of dinner an 8 out of 10. Dessert was a 10 out of ten Pear Tatin, with homemade hazelnut ice cream. Course we had a nice bottle of pinot noir from Carneros. Was a nice experience, but we forgot how busy Annapolis is in terms of sleeping as we usually are anchored up some quiet river on Saturday evenings.

Since we had Monday off we opted to sail (mostly motor) up the Chester to the Corsica River, another one of our favorites. Was 180 degrees opposite of Sat evening. Absolute solitude and flocks of geese practicing landings. When darkness arrived the stars were unbelievable. Could see even the wispy Milky Way brightly. We anchored about 1 mile upstream in a little cover of the old Russian spy house. Corsica, Grey's Inn, and Langford Creeks (Cackaway Island) are some of our favorite spots. The 11/2 hour sail up from the bay mitigates the crowds and they are very serene, especially in the fall.

We were there on Friday night. Probably having dinner with our friends in the club until 10 when we got back down to the boat. Our air considtioning was running though so it should have looked like we were there. Our friends are leaving for the Bahamas down the intercoastal around October 15.

Wonder if thats when Dan and Eryka are going? They should get together. Our friend was a "Booomer Commander" for years and a NA grad. He sails an Island Packet 35

Look for an Island Packet 35- Dark Maroon Canvas...Morning Wind. They are our best of friends. The went down last year for the first time and had a great time. I will talk to them to see if they mind if I can give you thioer information. They will be traveling down the ICW with a another club member who is in an Erickson 39.
