I fiberglassed in a tube to the hull to mount my depth transducer up forward on the centerline. At this point the hull has a V.. The intent was to fill the tube with oil to fill the gap. It doesn't appear to be working all that well. It may be because I'm using an old low power sounder. Any ideas on a transducer that might work?. I like the location and a flush mount would have the transducer aimed out and angle.

P 79 comes with the mount to just to an angled hull. needs to be shooting thru solid hull. https://www.airmar.com/uploads/brochures/p79.pdf

I have my transducer epoxied to the hull in the bilge. Works fine. Did you try that location first by putting the transducer in a plastic bag filled with water or using something like grease to couple it to the hull? It not, try that and see if you can find a location that works.
