I am looking for a spot to go spend a few days sailing next year around Toledo. I want to stay on the boat overnight in a slip and also have walking access to showers and toilets. Any ideas on the best place?

Ohh - Despite what it seems, toledo isn't exactly a boating friendly city IMHO. The maumee river can be a bit busy, but it's mostly powerboat and commerical traffic on it. When I lived there, I never saw a sailboat on the river or near the lake. As far as marinas go, there are a few in Erie, Monroe and La Salle Mi. All SE michigan, just north of toledo; otherwise you'll likely end up in Point Place, which is a spit of land on the NE end of Toledo. Lake St Clair to the north in Detriot is a popular boating area. The more obvious destinations would be the Lake Erie Islands a short daysail away. Hit put-in-bay on middle bass island for some nightlife, or try kelley's and the other bass islands for a more laid back feel. Pelee island is the largest and is a community in it's own right. I'm not sure about depth issues, but I think you might enjoy exploring North Maumee bay. There's a few small islands, and mostly pastoral land scenes. Hmm.. Seems I may have strayed a bit on your original question. Your best bet is Otter Creek Marina for a slip and showers. You'll find sailors and alot of windsurfers there. Good wind off the power plant for windsurfing.
