Jags,
sailingdog provided as close to a fair answer to your question as possible. But, you chose to respond with a regurgitated rant on your religious beliefs. It's my belief that an inanimate object, such as a boat, cannot be "Christened" in the sense you're referring to.

The ceremony we had when "marrying" our used boat was performed by a loan officer. When it's paid off we'll get the "born again" certificate.

Hey blue I do however agree with you about one thing, Dog's answer, contrary to your a regurgitated shallow minded rant on your religious beliefs, may have indeed been fair, but you took a shot below the belt. I am starting to feel at home around here, thanks I needed that~!!;) :D :D
Jag, Christening a boat involves the naming or renaming of a vessel, so sailingdog's suggestion for using Vigor's chant seemed appropriate. You must have thin skin and wear your belt around your neck, if you think my post was "below the belt". ;)

There you go Jags, three worthwhile suggestions from believers of the proper protocol of nautical traditions. If you feel as if you need the security of all this pomp & circumstance stuff, then gather your best friends on deck and in your best theatrical English accent, recite the chosen chants. Then release the 12 white doves and shoot the feathers off them.
